On October 24, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published Modification of the MRL for dicamba in genetically modified soybean and Review of the existing MRLs for oxadiargyl.

On October 22, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) published an amendment (in Japanese) to their national MRL standard. The amendment includes MRL changes for aklomide, anilofos, isopyrazam, imicyafos, chlorantraniliprole, cyazofamid, dichlofenthion, dinotefuran, spinetoram, vamidothion, pyriofenone, pyridafenthion, phenthoate, fluridone, milneb, and methazole.

MRLs that are newly-added or revised to a less restrictive level have entered into force. For MRLs changing to a more restrictive level, Japan is implementing a six month grace period. These changes will go into effect in April 2014.

Taiwan recently notified the WTO of draft changes (in Chinese) to their Standards for Veterinary Drug Residue Limits in Foods. Proposed changes affect ampicillin, danofloxacin, estradiol, florfenicol, kanamycin and thiamphenicol.

The WTO announcement can be accessed here. Comments on these changes should be submitted before December 21, 2013.

On October 15, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) established an MRL for clodinafop-propargyl on wheat. This newly-established tolerance can be viewed in PMRA's online database.

On October 14 and 15, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) established MRLs for isopyrazam, metribuzin and pendimethalin.

The European Union recently published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 1004/2013 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation revises MRLs for several active ingredients, including 8 hydroxyquinoline, cyproconazole, cyprodinil, fluopyram, nicotine, pendimethalin, penthiopyrad and trifloxystrobin.

MRL revisions were made to address new and changed uses. This amendment entered into force October 20.
