The MOA's announcement (in Chinese) lists two MRL proposals and draft changes to their food classification table. April 6, 2013, the European Union's MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 293/2013 entered into force.  This regulation raises MRLs for the following active ingredients: emamectin benzoate, etofenprox, etoxazole, flutriafol, glyphosate, phosmet, pyraclostrobin, spinosad and spirotetramat.

New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) recently published a proposal to amend the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards 2012. The draft proposes to add MRLs for the pesticides methoxyfenozide, spinetoram, and spirotetramat. MPI is accepting comments on proposed changes through June 5, 2013.

March 29, 2013, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a final rule, 78 FR 20461, in the Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient flumioxazin. The final rule establishes new MRLs for artichokes, cabbages, olives, pomegranates, and prickly pear commodities. The EPA will accept comments through June 4, 2013.

The final rule establishes a new import tolerance for tea and an MRL for pepper. The EPA will accept comments through May 28, 2013.

On March 27, 2013, the US EPA published a final rule, 78 FR 18519, in the US Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient abamectin. MRLs are established for the commodities cotton gin byproducts, cotton undelinted seed, and strawberry. The residue definition is also amended for existing abamectin tolerances.
