BCI is pleased to announce that we will be demonstrating the Food Additive Database at the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo, July 13-16 in Chicago.

The International Food Additive Database is freely accessible and includes over 80,000 food additive use regulations in 24 markets around the world.  Users can compare maximum use levels between countries for similar food types, view relevant regulatory notes and terminology, and download results in user-friendly Excel or PDF formats.

Please stop by Booth 3502 to meet the team and learn more about the database.  We hope to see you there!

As part of BCI's international regulatory data services, BCI monitors on a daily basis government gazettes and regulatory websites, international databases, as well as World Trade Organization (WTO) member notifications for updates on food additive use regulations. BCI Food Additive News will provide information on new legislation, amendments, and proposed regulatory changes specifically related to these food additive regulations. Interested parties are encouraged to check back often, as new posts will typically go up at least once a week or subscribe to be notified by email of new postings.

The news items posted on this forum will also complement the data in the International Food Additive Database, communicating specific updates to the database as well as regulatory source information. This database is a joint project with the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The database provides a single source of information on global food additive regulations, and allows users to compare food additive maximum use levels between countries for similar food types and categories. Search results include the exact food terminology used by the country, as well as any unique nuances noted in the market's food additive regulations.
