On July 18, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a new MRL amendment affecting imidacloprid; oxathiapiprolin; quinclorac; clofentezine; chlorpropham; spiramycin; tylosin; dazomet, metam and methyl isothiocyanate; picarbutrazox; fluopyram; fludioxonil; prohexadione-calcium; and mandestrobin.

Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database by July 28, 2017.

On January 24, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a proposal to amend numerous MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs. Comments on these proposals are due by February 7, 2017. Any proposals containing MRL decreases will likely be announced to the WTO in the coming months.

Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database by February 2, 2017.

On June 14, the U.S. EPA established time-limited tolerances for residues of chlorantraniliprole and tolerances for residues of clofentezine in or on various commodities.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by August 15, 2016. The amended MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database tomorrow.

On June 5, the European Union published Reg. (EU) 2015/846 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for acetamiprid, ametoctradin, amisulbrom, bupirimate, clofentezine, ethephon, ethirimol, fluopicolide, imazapic, propamocarb, pyraclostrobin, and taufluvalinate in or on certain products.

MRLs go into effect on June 25, 2015, and relevant MRL changes will be added to Global MRL Database as pending.

On October 7, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the modification of the existing MRLs for clofentezine in cherries, cucurbits with edible peel, tomatoes, and aubergines.
