On November 25, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of initial filings of pesticide petitions requesting the establishment or modification of regulations for residues of pesticide chemicals in or on various commodities.

This week, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established MRLs for the active ingredients clomazone, propiconazole, forchlorfenuron, metaflumizone, proquinazid, imazapic, and thiram. Objections and requests for hearings must be received by June 2, 2014 for clomazone, propiconazole, and forchlorfenuron; and by June 3, 2014 for metaflumizone, proquinazid, imazapic, and thiram.

Relevant changes will appear in www.mrldatabase.com early next week.

This week, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) opened several draft MRL documents for public consultation.

Canada will accept comments on proposed changes for fludioxonil, isoxadifen-ethyl, tembotrione, and fluazinam through December 7. Comments on clomazone, novaluron, methoxyfenozide, and propiconazole will be accepted through December 10.
