On March 20, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published amendments for chlorfluazuron, spinetoram, cyproconazole, clethodim, azadirachtin, amicarbazone, azoxystrobin (proposed via Consulta Pública n° 296 and n° 306), halosulfuron-methyl, indaziflam, linuron, mepiquat chloride, propaquizafop, triclopyr, thiodicarb, tebuconazole (proposed via Consulta Pública n° 304 and n° 308), and iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium.

MRL changes from these amendments will be displayed in the Global MRL Database on March 21.

This week, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published proposed monograph changes (including some MRL revisions) for chlorfluazuron, spinetoram, cyproconazole, clethodim, azadirachtin, amicarbazone, azoxystrobin (Consulta Pública n° 296 and  306), halosulfuron-methyl, indaziflam, linuron, mepiquat chloride, propaquizafop, triclopyr, thiodicarb, tebuconazole (Consulta Pública n° 304 and  308), iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium (links in Portuguese).

Comments on these proposals must be submitted by March 11, 2017 for iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium, azoxystrobin (n° 306), and tebuconazole (n° 308) and by March 10, 2017 for all other active ingredients. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on February 11, 2017.

Denmark’s Høringsportalen posted draft MRL amendments under consideration by the European Union's Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. These include:

  • SANTE/11309/2016: aminopyralid, azoxystrobin, cyantraniliprole, cyflufenamid, cyproconazole, diethofencarb, dithiocarbamates, fluazifop-P, fluopyram, haloxyfop, isofetamid, metalaxyl, prohexadione, propaquizafop, pyrimethanil, Trichoderma atroviride strain SC1, and zoxamide
  • SANTE/11418/2015: bifenthrin, carbetamide, cinidon-ethyl, fenpropimorph, and triflusulfuron

Relevant proposed MRLs will begin to appear in the Global MRL Database starting September 21, 2016.

On May 31, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published draft amendments proposing changes for the following active ingredients (in Portuguese): thiophanate-methylflumioxazinfosetyl, Bacillus firmustrifloxystrobin, Pasteuria nishizawaeS-metolachlorspinetoramcyproconazoleprohexadione-calciumMelaleuca alternifolia, fluazinam, lufenuron, diflubenzuron, atrazine, chlorothalonil, imazethapyr, azoxystrobin, difenoconazole, tebuconazole, metsulfuron-methyl, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, zeta-cypermethrin, imibenconazole, bifenthrin, and etofenprox.

Comments on these proposals must be submitted by June 26, 2016. Relevant proposed MRLs will show in the Global MRL Database by Thursday.

On October 22, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a technical report on the outcome of the consultation with Member States, the applicant and EFSA on the pesticide risk assessment of confirmatory data for the active substance cyproconazole.

The European Union recently published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 1004/2013 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation revises MRLs for several active ingredients, including 8 hydroxyquinoline, cyproconazole, cyprodinil, fluopyram, nicotine, pendimethalin, penthiopyrad and trifloxystrobin.

MRL revisions were made to address new and changed uses. This amendment entered into force October 20.

On June 21, the US EPA published a final rule in the US Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient cyproconazole. Objections and requests for hearing must be received on or before August 20.
