On July 18, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a new MRL amendment affecting imidacloprid; oxathiapiprolin; quinclorac; clofentezine; chlorpropham; spiramycin; tylosin; dazomet, metam and methyl isothiocyanate; picarbutrazox; fluopyram; fludioxonil; prohexadione-calcium; and mandestrobin.

Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database by July 28, 2017.

On July 3, Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare notified the WTO of an adopted MRL amendment to its Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, revoking the MRL for fluopyram on tea.

The MRL amendment will display in the Global MRL Database on July 4, 2017. This amendment took effect June 29, 2017.

On April 5, Taiwan’s Ministry of Health notified the WTO of a Draft of Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, proposing new and amended MRLs for fluopyram on various commodities.

On December 7, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a proposal to amend numerous MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs. Comments on these proposals are due by December 21, 2016. Any proposals containing MRL decreases will likely be announced to the WTO in the coming months.

Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database by December 22, 2016.

On October 31, the European Union notified the WTO of proposed MRLs for active ingredients fluopyram, hexachlorocyclohexane, lindane, nicotine, and profenofos in or on certain products.

The final date for comments is December 30, 2016. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database by October 31, 2016.

Denmark’s Høringsportalen posted draft MRL amendments under consideration by the European Union's Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. These include:

  • SANTE/11309/2016: aminopyralid, azoxystrobin, cyantraniliprole, cyflufenamid, cyproconazole, diethofencarb, dithiocarbamates, fluazifop-P, fluopyram, haloxyfop, isofetamid, metalaxyl, prohexadione, propaquizafop, pyrimethanil, Trichoderma atroviride strain SC1, and zoxamide
  • SANTE/11418/2015: bifenthrin, carbetamide, cinidon-ethyl, fenpropimorph, and triflusulfuron

Relevant proposed MRLs will begin to appear in the Global MRL Database starting September 21, 2016.
