On April 13, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a proposal to amend numerous MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs. Comments on these proposals are due by April 27, 2017. Any proposals containing MRL decreases will likely be announced to the WTO in the coming months.

Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database by April 18, 2017.

On April 15, the European Union published Reg. (EU) 2016/567 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for chlorantraniliprole, cyflumetofen, cyprodinil, dimethomorph, dithiocarbamates, fenamidone, fluopyram, flutolanil, imazamox, metrafenone, myclobutanil, propiconazole, sedaxane, and spirodiclofen in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs go into effect May 5, 2016. Relevant pending MRL changes are on display in the Global MRL Database.

On April 17, the European Union published Reg. (EU) 2015/603 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for 2-naphthyloxyacetic acid, acetochlor, chloropicrin, diflufenican, flurprimidol, flutolanil, and spinosad in or on certain products.

MRLs go into effect on December 7, 2015, and relevant MRL changes will be added to www.globalmrl.com as pending.

Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare recently notified the WTO of a Draft of Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, containing MRLs for 29 active ingredients.

Comments must be submitted by September 27, 2014.
