On November 29, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) announced proposed MRL changes for isopyrazam, etofenprox, fenpyroximate, mandestrobin, flumequine, mono- and bis- (trimethylammoniummethylene chloride)-alkyltoluene, and butylated hydroxyanisole. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

Comments are due to the Embassy by December 13, 2018. Relevant proposed MRLs will be available in the Global MRL Database on December 7, 2018.

Recently, Japan's National Tax Agency published an updated version (in Japanese) of its list of food additives that can be used for the preservation of alcoholic beverages.

These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

On September 13, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) announced proposed MRL changes for simeconazole, tebufenpyrad, triflumizole, pyriofenone, fluazifop-butyl, fluensulfone, metaflumizone, and thymol. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

Comments are due to the Embassy by September 27, 2018. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on September 18, 2018.

On August 27, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) notified the WTO of a food additive proposal concerning aluminum ammonium sulfate and aluminum potassium sulfate. The MHLW first published this proposal in April 2018.

On July 31, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) announced proposed MRL changes for 1,3-Dichloropropene, acynonapyr, acibenzolar-S-methyl, chlorothalonil, probenazole, and morantel. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

Comments are due to the Embassy by August 14, 2018. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on August 7, 2018.

On July 30, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) notified the WTO of proposed MRL changes for dimethenamid, fluxapyroxad, gibberellin, heptachlor, fluvalinate, teflubenzuron, 2,4-D, chlorfluazuron, chlormequat, metalaxyl and metalaxyl-M, and spinosad.

The final deadline for comments is September 28, 2018. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on August 1, 2018.
