On March 7, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a conclusion on the peer review of the pesticide risk assessment of the active substance mesotrione.

The European Union's mesotrione MRLs currently display in the Global MRL Database.

On January 20, the European Union published Reg. (EU) 2016/53 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for diethofencarb, mesotrione, metosulam, and pirimiphos-methyl in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs go into effect August 9, 2016. Relevant pending MRL changes will be added to Global MRL Database.

The European Union recently notified the WTO of draft MRLs, including:

  • G/SPS/N/EU/133 – chlorpyrifos in or on certain products
  • G/SPS/N/EU/136 – diethofencarb, mesotrione, metosulam, pirimiphos-methyl, propiconazole, and spiroxamine in or on certain products

The final date for comments is August 28, 2015. Relevant proposed MRLs will be added to Global MRL Database.

On May 29, the U.S. EPA established tolerances for residues of mesotrione and metconazole in or on multiple commodities. Objections and requests for hearings must be received by July 28, 2015.

These MRLs will be added to the Global MRL Database.

Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently established several MRLs.

On June 15, PMRA established the fluazifop-butyl MRLs first proposed on March 18, 2013, under document PMRL2013-05.

On June 15, PMRA established the difenoconazole MRLs first proposed on March 18, 2013, under document PMRL2013-06.

On June 15, PMRA established the fluroxypyr-meptyl MRLs first proposed on March 18, 2013, under document PMRL2013-07.

On June 18, PMRA established the mesotrione MRLs first proposed on March 21, 2013, under document PMRL2013-08.

On June 18, PMRA established the tembotrione MRLs first proposed on March 21, 2013, under document PMRL2013-09.

On June 18, PMRA established the propiconazole MRLs first proposed on March 21, 2013, under document PMRL2013-10.

These amendments are currently being added to www.mrldatabase.com.

On June 5, 2013, the US EPA published a notice of applications received for new and revised MRLs. Pesticide petitions have been submitted for: flutriafol, benzovindiflupyr, flonicamid, metaflumizone, fenamidone, fomesafen, flupyradifurone, aminopyralid, difenoconazole, chlorantraniliprole, isofetamid, thiabendazole, saflufenacil, and mesotrione. Comments must be received on or before July 5, 2013.

Effective March 20, 2013, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) established MRLs for the active ingredient mesotrione.  Changes correspond with those proposed in PMRL2012-46.

Relevant changes will appear in www.mrldatabase.com tomorrow.
