Taiwan's Ministry of Health recently notified the WTO of a Draft of Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, containing MRLs for 21 pesticides.

Comments must be submitted by January 6, 2015.

On October 22, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) published an amendment (in Japanese) to their national MRL standard. The amendment includes MRL changes for aklomide, anilofos, isopyrazam, imicyafos, chlorantraniliprole, cyazofamid, dichlofenthion, dinotefuran, spinetoram, vamidothion, pyriofenone, pyridafenthion, phenthoate, fluridone, milneb, and methazole.

MRLs that are newly-added or revised to a less restrictive level have entered into force. For MRLs changing to a more restrictive level, Japan is implementing a six month grace period. These changes will go into effect in April 2014.

Effective July 2, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) amended Japan's MRL regulation (link in Japanese). This update affects MRLs for the following active ingredients: acetaminophen, amisulbrom, cyazofamid, spirodiclofen, norflurazon, ferimzone, phenthoate, fenpyrazamine, fluopyram, and pendimethalin.

Japan maintains an online MRL database, searchable by active ingredient. MRL updates typically take about a week to show up in the English-translated database; at this time, relevant changes will be made to
