On April 11, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a new MRL amendment affecting albendazole, isouron, etoxazole, simeconazole, cymoxanil, spirotetramat, thifensulfuron-methyl, thifluzamide, tebufenozide, triflumizole, tolfenamic acid, pyriofenone, fluensulfone, fluopicolide, prothioconazole, prohydrojasmon, profenofos, bromacil, prometryn, hexaconazole, hexythiazox, benzovindiflupyr, and lepimectin.

Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database by April 20, 2017.

On April 10, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of pesticide petitions to establish MRLs on several active ingredients.

Comments must be received by May 10, 2017. MRLs from this proposal will display in the Global MRL Database on April 11, 2017.

This week, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) notified the WTO of proposed MRL changes for the following active ingredients:

The final date for comments is February18, 2017. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on December 23, 2016.

On November 30, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of pesticide petitions to establish MRLs on several active ingredients.

Comments must be received by December 30, 2016. MRLs from this proposal will display in the Global MRL Database on December 1, 2016.

On September 23, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a proposal to amend numerous MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs. Comments on these proposals are due by October 7, 2016. Any proposals containing MRL decreases will likely be announced to the WTO in the coming months.

Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database by September 30, 2016.

On June 17, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published Gazette No. 12 - 17 June 2014. Pages 30-33 of the gazette outline established MRLs for several pesticides on various commodities, amending Australia's Standard 1.4.2.

On September 11, the US EPA published a final rule in the US Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient prometryn. In addition to establishing new tolerances, this rule also changed the residue definitions for several commodities.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received on or before November 12.

Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently established several MRLs.

On July 15, PMRA established the glufosinate-ammonium MRLs first proposed on April 9, 2013, under document PMRL2013-15.

On July 15, PMRA established the prometryn MRLs first proposed on April 9, 2013, under document PMRL2013-16.

On July 15, PMRA established the fenamidone MRLs first proposed on April 9, 2013, under document PMRL2013-17.

These amendments have been added to www.mrldatabase.com.

April 9, 2013, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) published consultation document Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2013-16. This document proposes new MRLs for the active ingredient prometryn on celeriac tops and roots. PMRA will accept comments for up to 75 days from the publication of this document.
