On May 24, Denmark's Høringsportalen posted draft MRL amendments under consideration by the European Union's Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. These include:

  • SANTE/10656/2016 Rev. 1Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain FZB24, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain MBI 600, Beauveria bassiana strain NPP111B005, Beauveria bassiana strain 147, clayed charcoal, cyclaniliprole, dichlorprop, ethephon, etridiazole, flonicamid, fluazifop-P, hydrogen peroxide, metaldehyde, penconazole, spinetoram, tau-fluvalinate and Urtica spp.
  • SANTE/11706/2016 Rev. 2: fenpropidin and pymetrozine

 Relevant proposed MRLs have been added to the Global MRL Database.

On May 24, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) opened a public consultation on the active substance BAS 750 F (mefentrifluconazole). Comments on the rapporteur Member State's assessment reports must be sent to EFSA by July 24, 2017.

On May 23, the European Union published an amendment to its food additive regulations regarding the use of food additives in color preparations. This amendment is effective from June 11, 2017.

On May 23, the European Union published an amendment to its food additive regulations regarding the use of phosphoric acid – phosphates – di – tri – and polyphosphates in certain meat preparations. These changes were originally proposed in December 2016. These changes will take effect on June 11, 2017.
