On September 7, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published an amendment to the Food Standards Code. The amendment includes permissions for the use of endo-1,4-beta-xylanase, pectin, carrageenan, and beta-galactosidase as processing aids. Changes take effect on September 7, 2017.

On September 4, Chile’s Ministry of Health notified the WTO to amend the comment deadline on a proposal to modify articles 493, 494, 495, 498, 499, 501, 502, 503, 504 and 505 of its food additive regulations regarding infant formula proposed in July 2017. The new comment deadline is September 26, 2017.
