On January 19, the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service published Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) reports for Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

BCI is pleased to announce that Indonesia's food additive regulations have been added to the Food Additive Database and are now available to subscribers.

This update incorporates the maximum use levels contained in 27 Indonesian food additive regulations which are categorized by technological function. Each regulation has been professionally translated and analyzed by BCI's team of regulatory specialists.

This week, the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Service published Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) Country Reports for the following countries:

Information on pesticides and other contaminants is included in Section III for Indonesia and New Zealand and Section V for the other markets. The Global MRL Database currently displays relevant established and proposed MRLs for these markets.

On August 19, Indonesia's National Agency for Drug and Food Control (NADFC) published two regulations related to food additives: Persyaratan Penggunaan Bahan Tambahan Pangan Perisa (flavoring substances) and Kategori Pangan (food categories).  Both regulations are available in Indonesian.

On August 31, Indonesia re-notified the WTO of a draft regulation on the Safety and Quality Standard of Alcoholic Beverages, which contains information on food additives. This draft regulation was previously notified to the WTO on June 30, 2016. The comment deadline is now October 30, 2016.
