On October 3, the Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published Gazette No. 20 – 3 October 2017. Pages 24-25 of the gazette list draft MRLs and pages 30-31 list amendments to MRLs for pesticides in various commodities.

Comments on the draft MRLs must be submitted to APVMA by October 31, 2017. Relevant proposed and amended MRLs will appear in the Global MRL Database on October 4, 2017.

On October 2, the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1777 amending MRLs for Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain FZB24, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain MBI 600, clayed charcoal, dichlorprop-P, ethephon, etridiazole, flonicamid, fluazifop-P, hydrogen peroxide, metaldehyde, penconazole, spinetoram, tau-fluvalinate and Urtica spp. in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs go into effect October 22, 2017. Relevant pending MRL changes will display in the Global MRL Database on October 2, 2017.

On September 18, Thailand gazetted Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) No. 387, BE 2560 (2017), on Food Containing Pesticide Residues (in Thai). The consolidated MRL amendment revises numerous MRLs and modifies Thailand's MRL deferral process.

Amended MRLs are available in the Global MRL Database.

On September 14, Costa Rica's State Phytosanitary Service (SFE) published an updated list of MRLs adopted by Costa Rica. The MRLs in the list are applicable to domestic and imported products and are updated periodically throughout the year.

Adopted MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on September 19, 2017.
