On February 16, New Zealand's Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) published Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds, which is a consolidated MRL standard that includes amendments proposed in December 2017.

The amended MRLs are available in the Global MRL Database.

On February 16, Europe's Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP) published an adopted opinion recommending the establishment of MRLs for paromoycin in poultry eggs.

Based on the CVMP opinion, the European Commission will adopt a legally binding Regulation establishing the MRLs for the substance. Applicants may request re-examination of any CVMP opinion within 15 days of its publication.

Proposed MRLs from the summary opinion will display in the Global MRL Database on February 20, 2018.

On December 28, Korea's Ministry of Food and Safety (MFDS) posted Notice No. 2017-473 (in Korean) proposing revisions to their food regulations, including MRL changes.

Comments on these proposals must be submitted by February 26, 2018. Relevant proposed MRLs will appear in the Global MRL Database on December 29, 2017.

On December 15, Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety published Notice No. 2017-102 (link in Korean) revising their food regulations, including extensive MRL changes.

Pesticide MRL revisions from this amendment are effective March 1, 2018. Veterinary drug MRL revisions are effective January 1, 2019. MRL changes will be added to the Global MRL Database in the coming weeks.

On November 29, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW) announced proposed MRL changes for dichlorprop, cyflumetofen, flubendiamide, lepimectin, deltamethrin (tralomethrin), dexamethasone, hydramethylnon, fentin, flucarbazone sodium, propazine, and oleandomycin. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

Comments are due to the embassy by December 12, 2017. Relevant proposed MRLs currently display in the Global MRL Database.
