David McCaleb joined BCI's Seattle office in December 2013 and was named Director of Market Development in December 2015.
David oversees the firm’s Market Development team and manages export development programs for several of BCI's clients. He is actively involved in strategic planning, market research, program implementation, grant writing, financial management, and evaluations. He is also a member of the U.S. Government’s Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Processed Foods.
Prior to joining BCI, David worked as a Program Manager and International Trade Specialist for the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). At TTB, he assisted U.S. industry with market access and trade compliance issues, and was responsible for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Russia and Non-EU Europe, and Technical Barriers to Trade portfolios. In these roles, he coordinated closely with the Office of the United States Trade Representative and other U.S. Government agencies in formulating trade policy pertaining to alcoholic beverages.
Before joining TTB, David held positions with the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of International Affairs, International Technology and Trade Associates, and the U.S. Department of State.
David is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a BA in Economics and Russian and Eastern European Studies. He also received an MA in International Trade and Investment Policy from George Washington University, and a Russian language certificate from Moscow State University.
