Clara Nowinski joined BCI’s Sacramento office in March 2021 as a Market Development intern and transitioned to a Market Development assistant role in October 2021. Clara assists on a range of market development activities including grant writing and reporting, program planning and implementation, and financial management. Prior to joining BCI, Clara worked as a legal assistant in a local Sacramento law firm, as well as an elementary school teacher both in California and Spain.

Born and raised in Sacramento, Clara studied at UC Berkeley where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in Latin American Studies. As an undergraduate, Clara completed a semester abroad at the University of Granada in Spain. Clara then went on to complete a Master of International Relations at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain where she lived for several years. She now speaks fluent Spanish and has language skills in Italian, Portuguese and Catalan. Clara is deeply passionate about international relations, intrastate conflict and political extremism, and other emerging issues such as climate change and sustainable food systems.
