On March 20, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published reasoned opinions on the modification of the existing MRLs for pyridaben and cyprodinil in various commodities.

On March 18, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published draft amendments proposing changes for Heterorhabditis bacteriophoraCordyceps fumosorosea, fludioxonil, cyprodinil, metiram, florpyrauxifen-benzyl, tebuconazole, azoxystrobin, metominostrobin, difenoconazole, chlorfenapyrReynoutria sachalinensis, spinetoram, fluroxypyr-meptyl, methoxyfenozide, fenpropimorph, etofenprox, and Purpureocillium lilacinum (links in Portuguese).

Comments on these proposed revisions must be received by May 16, 2019. Relevant proposed MRLs are currently displaying in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database.

On March 18, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of pesticide petitions (84 FR 9735 and 84 FR 9737) to establish or modify MRLs for several active ingredients.

Comments must be received by April 17, 2019. MRLs from these proposals are currently displaying in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database.

On March 15, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) announced proposed MRL changes for cyanophos, tetradifon, tetraniliprole, picoxystrobin, bifenazate, neomycin, and fluralaner. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

Comments are due to the Embassy by March 29, 2019. Relevant proposed MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database later this week.

Last week, the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service published Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) reports for Indonesia, the Dominican Republic, Serbia, Poland, Pakistan, and the Republic of Korea.

The BCGlobal Food Additive Database includes the regulations for Indonesia, the Dominican Republic, the European Union, and Korea. If you are interested in subscribing, please contact BCI.

On March 14, the European Food safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the modification of the existing MRL for fluopyram in broccoli.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by May 13, 2019. The amended MRLs will be available in the Global MRL Database on March 13, 2019.

The European Economic Area (EEA) recently updated its agreement on veterinary and phytosanitary matters, including updates to EU MRL Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. EU MRL amendments apply to Norway, Iceland, and Lichtenstein once accepted to the EEA.

The following EU amendments are now applicable:

Relevant changes for Norway and Iceland will appear in Global MRL Database on March 12, 2019.
