On December 17, the European Union published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 1317/2013 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation revises MRLs for 2,4-D, beflubutamid, cyclanilide, diniconazole, florasulam, metolachlor and S-metolachlor, and milbemectin.

MRL revisions were made to address new and changed uses. This amendment will enter into force July 6, 2014.

Relevant changes will appear in www.mrldatabase.com after the regulation is in effect.

The European Union recently notified the WTO of draft MRLs for the active ingredients ethoxysulfuron, metsulfuron-methyl, nicosulfuron, prosulfuron, rimsulfuron, sulfosulfuron and thifensulfuron-methyl.

The EU is proposing to adopt these changes in May 2014. Comments are due by February 17, 2014.

On December 17, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published Gazette No. 25. Within the gazette announcement are variations to Australia's international MRL standard.

New MRLs are added to buprofezin, clothianidin, and imidacloprid. The update also replaces existing MRLs for clothianidin.

The European Union recently notified the WTO of draft MRLs for the active ingredients acibenzolar-S-methyl, ethoxyquin, flusilazole, isoxaflutole, molinate, propoxycarbazone, pyraflufen-ethyl, quinoclamine, and warfarin.

The EU is proposing to adopt these changes in May 2014. Comments are due by February 11, 2014.

December 10 through December 12, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) published the following Proposed Maximum Residue Level (PMRL) documents:

Each document has a 75 day consultation period, closing in February 2014.

On December 11, the U.S. EPA amended their MRL regulations for the active ingredients flutriafol and flonicamid.

For flutriafol, import tolerance MRLs were added for coffee, green bean and instant coffee. Because there are no active U.S. registrations for the use of flutriafol on these commodities, the import tolerance MRLs will not display in www.mrldatabase.com.

For flonicamid, MRLs for were added for several commodities including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and animal feeds. Certain existing crop group MRLs were replaced with the updated crop group definitions. Relevant changes have been made to www.mrldatabase.com.
