On February 14, the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service published Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) reports for the Philippines, the Russian Federation, Belgium-Luxembourg, and the EU-28

On February 14, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published draft amendments proposing changes for prallethrin, pyriproxyfen, cyantraniliprole, methomyl, deltamethrin, clothianidin, fipronil, and imidacloprid (links in Portuguese).

Comments on these proposed revisions must be received by March 14, 2019.

Recently, Mexico’s Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) published an amendment to Annex III and Annex VI of its food additive regulations. They are effective from January 29, 2019 and February 5, 2019 respectively.

On February 11, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) notified the WTO of adopted MRLs for the following active ingredients:

  • G/SPS/N/CAN/1214/Add.1 - Tetrachlorvinphos, carbofuran, diazinon, dicofol, dinocap, diphenamid, disulfoton, nicotine, phosalone, pirimicarb, sodium trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and vinclozolin
  • G/SPS/N/CAN/1215/Add.1 - Kresoxim-methyl

Individual changes can be viewed in the linked WTO notifications. The amended MRLs will be available in the Global MRL Database on February 12, 2019.

On February 6, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of pesticide petitions to establish or modify MRLs for several active ingredients.

Comments must be received by March 8, 2019. MRLs from this proposal will display in the Global MRL Database on February 7, 2019.

Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently proposed MRLs for aminoethoxyvinylglycine hydrochloridepenflufen, difenoconazole, and penthiopyrad in or on various commodities.

PMRA will accept comments on the proposed MRLs through April 22, 2019 (aminoethoxyvinylglycine hydrochloride, penflufen) and April 23, 2019 (difenoconazole, penthiopyrad). The proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on February 9, 2019.

On February 5, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published a call for submissions regarding Application A1159 on triacylglycerol lipase from Trichoderma reesei.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recently published reasoned opinions on the evaluation of confirmatory data following the Article 12 MRL reviews for imazamox, spinosad, and flutolanil.

Proposed MRLs from these reasoned opinions will display in the Global MRL Database on February 5, 2019.
