On December 11, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published a trade advice notice on fluxapyroxad for use on apples. 

Comments must be submitted to the APVMA by January 20, 2020. Proposed MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on December 19, 2019.

On December 18, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published amendments to the monographs for clethodim, fipronil, spiromesifen, gibberellic acid, trifloxystrobin, tebuconazole, and fluensulfone (links in Portuguese).

Updated MRLs from these amendments will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on December 19, 2019.

On December 18, the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service published Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) reports for Austria and Croatia.

The BCGlobal Food Additive Database includes maximum use level regulations for over 850 additives in more than 70 countries worldwide, including the European Union. Please contact BCI for more information on subscribing.

Recently, Indonesia’s National Agency of Drug and Food Control published a new regulation regarding the definitions for food categories. The regulation is effective November 15, 2019, with an 18 month grace period for registered products.

On December 12, the European Union notified the WTO of the following MRL proposal:

  • G/SPS/N/EU/360: Draft Commission Regulation (EU) amending Annexes II and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum residue levels for chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos-methyl in or on certain products.

The proposed MRLs from this WTO notification will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on December 13, 2019.
