On September 30, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposed MRLs for malathion in or on various commodities. 

Comments are due by December 14, 2019. The proposed MRLs will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on October 2, 2019.

On October 1, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) published FSIS Directive 7120.1 Revision 52. This directive lists safe and suitable ingredients, including food additives, used in the production of meat, poultry, and egg products.

Recently, Japan's National Tax Agency published an amendment (in Japanese) to its list of substances that can be used for the preservation of alcoholic beverages.

On September 27, Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) posted Notice 2019-450 (in Korean) proposing revisions to their food regulations, including MRL changes.

Relevant proposed MRLs will appear in the BCGlobal Databases in the coming weeks.

On September 26, the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1582 amending MRLs for imazalil in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs will be effective from April 16, 2020. Relevant pending MRL changes will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on September 28, 2019.

On September 26, the U.S. EPA established an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for florpyrauxifen-benzyl, simultaneously revoking previously established MRLs.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by November 25, 2019. The tolerance exemption will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on September 27, 2019.
