On June 20, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published an Administrative Assessment Report for Application A1181 concerning the proposed amendment of the current Schedule 20 MRL for imazapyr in barley. An Executive Summary was also published with the report. 

The proposed MRL will be available in the BCGlobal MRL Databases on June 25, 2019.

On June 19, China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs notified the WTO of proposed MRLs. The draft standard includes 390 MRLs for 125 pesticides previously announced by the Ministry for domestic consultation in 2018.

Comments are due by August 18, 2019. Relevant proposed MRLs will be added to the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database over the next few weeks, following translation and further analysis.

On May 24, China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs initiated a public consultation on draft MRL amendments to its National Food Safety Standards in Food. Proposed amendments (in Chinese) include:

On June 17, the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/973 amending MRLs for bispyribac, denatonium benzoate, fenoxycarb, flurochloridone, quizalofop-P-ethyl, quizalofop-P-tefuryl, propaquizafop, tebufenozide in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs will go into effect on January 4, 2020. Relevant pending MRL changes will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database starting June 18, 2019.

David McCaleb (Director, International Marketing) has been reappointed to the U.S. Government's Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Processed Food Products.  This committee provides technical advice to the United States Trade Representative and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture on trade issues that pertain to agriculture.  On the committee, David will represent the Brewers Association.  His appointment goes through 2023.

On May 30, Mexico’s Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) published an amendment to Annex I and Annex VII of its food additive regulations. These amendments are effective from May 30, 2019.
