On February 24, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the evaluation of confirmatory data following the Article 12 MRL review and modification of the existing maximum residue levels for prothioconazole.

Recently, Mexico's Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) published an amendment to Annex VI of its food additive regulations. It is effective December 20, 2019.

The BCGlobal Food Additive Database includes the regulations for Mexico, in English, though enzymes typically fall outside the scope of the database. If you are interested in subscribing, please contact BCI.

Recently, the Philippines' Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Fisheries and Agriculture Standards published its Philippine National Standard for Maximum Residue Limits on Selected Imported Crops. The standard establishes MRLs for multiple active ingredients on various commodities. 

Updated MRLs from this standard will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on February 22, 2020.

On February 19, Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare notified the WTO of a draft standard for pesticide residue limits in foods, proposing MRLs for multiple active ingredients on various commodities.

Comments must be submitted by April 19, 2020. Relevant proposed MRLs can be viewed in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database starting February 20, 2020.

On February 14, the U.S. EPA established tolerances for residues of acetamiprid, chlorfenapyr, cyantraniliprole, difenoconazole, flutriafol, and prohexadione calcium in or on various commodities.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by April 14, 2020. The established MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on February 19, 2020.

The BCGlobal Food Additive Database includes maximum use level regulations for over 850 additives in more than 70 countries worldwide, including the European Union. Please contact BCI for more information on subscribing.
