Recently, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) published a circular establishing MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs previously not allowed in food.

The new MRLs went into effect on May 1, 2020 and are available in the BCGlobal Pesticide and Vet Drug MRL Databases.

On May 26, the U.S. EPA established tolerances for residues of chlormequat chloride and indoxacarb in or on various commodities.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by July 27, 2020. The established MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on May 27, 2020.

Recently, Israel’s Ministry of Health published food additive amendments for steviol glycosides, calcium carbonate, polyols, coloring agents, and methyl cellulose . The amendments are effective from June 4, 2020, except for methyl cellulose which is effective from May 30, 2020.

On May 20, Thailand's Food and Drug Administration notified the WTO of a proposal to delete the MRLs for chlorpyrifos and paraquat as regulated under Notification of the Ministry of Public Health, No. 387 (B.E. 2560) (2017) Re: Food Containing Pesticide Residues.

Comments are due within 30 days. Proposed MRL revocations will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on May 21, 2020.

On May 18, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published amendments to the monographs for aminopyralid, cyantraniliprole, difenoconazole, MCPA, and picoxystrobin (links in Portuguese).
