On October 30, China's National Health and Family Planning Commission published 127 regulatory documents, including new and updated specification standards for many food additives.

On June 8, 2015, USDA published a GAIN Report with an unofficial translation of China's new Food Safety Law.  This law was passed on April 25, 2015 and will take effect on October 1, 2015.  The law includes clauses pertaining to the regulation of food additives in China.

China's new comprehensive food additive regulation, the National Food Safety Standard for Food Additive Use (GB 2760-2014), went into effect on May 24, 2015.  After being under consultation for two years, this new version was published on December 24, 2014 and replaces the comprehensive 2010 version.   

The updated regulation is in the process of being entered into the International Food Additive Database

On April 24, 2015, the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress adopted an amendment to China's Food Safety Law, which includes tougher penalties for regulatory violations. The Food Safety Law includes clauses pertaining to the regulation of food additives in China.  This new version of the law will enter into force on October 1, 2015.

On April 28, 2015, USDA published a GAIN Report with an unofficial translation of China's National Food Safety Standard for Food Additive Use (GB 2760-2014).  This regulation was published on December 24, 2014 and will take effect on May 24, 2015.

Regulatory changes will be included in the International Food Additive Database when the new regulation enters into force.

On April 29, China's Ministry of Agriculture announced an MRL proposal through the WTO. This draft regulation contains 108 MRLs for 56 pesticides.

The proposal is currently available in Chinese only. MRLs will be updated in the Global MRL Database next week.

On December 8, China's National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) published Notice 2014 No.19, which includes national food safety standards for food additives.  The notice is only available in Chinese.

These documents are currently being reviewed.  Any relevant regulatory changes will be entered into the International Food Additive Database.
