On May 10, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) opened a public consultation on the active substance 1,3-dichloropropene. Comments on the rapporteur Member State assessment reports should be sent to EFSA by July 10, 2017.

On February 23, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a new MRL amendment affecting altrenogest, isopyrazam, imicyafos, etofenprox, ethofumesate, erythromycin, chinomethionat, closantel, saflufenacil, 1,3-dichloropropene, cyflumetofen, thiometon, bicyclopyrone, piperazine, fluazifop, flumethrin, vedaprofen, metoclopramide, mepanipyrim, and lomefloxacin.

Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database by March 2, 2017.

On June 17, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a proposal to amend numerous MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs. Comments on these proposals are due by July 1, 2016. Any proposals containing MRL decreases will likely be announced to the WTO in the coming months.

Relevant proposed MRLs have been added to Global MRL Database.

The European Union recently published Reg. (EU) 2015/552 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for 1,3-dichloropropene, bifenox, dimethenamid-P, prohexadione, tolylfluanid, and trifluralin in or on certain products.

MRLs go into effect October 28, 2015, and relevant MRL changes will be added to www.globalmrl.com as pending.

On July 18, the European Union notified the WTO of draft MRLs for 1,3-dichloropropene, bifenox, dimethenamid-P, prohexadione, tolylfluanid and trifluralin.

The final date for comments on these proposed MRLs is September 16, 2014.

Recently, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) established new and revised MRLs for several active ingredients.

MRLs have been amended for fluazifop-butyl, 1,3-dichloropropene, triticonazole, and hexazinone.

An updated list of Canadian MRLs can be accessed in their online database. Relevant changes have also been made to www.mrldatabase.com.

On June 25, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) published the following Proposed MRL documents:

PMRL2013-35 regarding fluazifop-butyl.

PMRL2013-36 regarding 1,3-dichloropropene.

PMRL2013-37 regarding metribuzin.

PMRL2013-38 regarding triticonazole.

PMRL2013-39 regarding hexazinone.

For each proposal, the final date for comments is September 8, 2013.

Relatedly, on June 25 PMRA also published a Proposed Registration Desicion regarding Bacillus subtilis strain GB03: PRD2013-14.  The final date for comments is August 10, 2013.
