The 47th session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) was held April 13-18 in Beijing, China. Many new MRLs were recommended for inclusion in the international Codex pesticide MRL standard. These will be officially established if approved by the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) during the July 6-11 meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
Other topics included the continuing work on revising the Codex Classification of Food and Feed, drafting the Guidance on Performance Criteria for Methods of Analysis for the Determination of Pesticide Residues, and completion of the Guidance to Facilitate the Establishment of MRLs for Pesticides for Minor Crops.
Details about the recommended MRLs and other discussion items can be found in the draft report. A link to the final report will be provided in MRL News when available.
BCI closely monitors Codex MRLs from proposal to approval to ensure this information is included in BCI's Global MRL Database.
