August 21, 2018

On August 21, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposed MRLs for diethofencarb, fludioxonil, diquat, and 2,4-D in or on various commodities.

PMRA will accept comments on the proposed MRLs through November 4, 2018. The proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on August 22, 2018.

September 21, 2016

Denmark’s Høringsportalen posted draft MRL amendments under consideration by the European Union's Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. These include:

  • SANTE/11309/2016: aminopyralid, azoxystrobin, cyantraniliprole, cyflufenamid, cyproconazole, diethofencarb, dithiocarbamates, fluazifop-P, fluopyram, haloxyfop, isofetamid, metalaxyl, prohexadione, propaquizafop, pyrimethanil, Trichoderma atroviride strain SC1, and zoxamide
  • SANTE/11418/2015: bifenthrin, carbetamide, cinidon-ethyl, fenpropimorph, and triflusulfuron

Relevant proposed MRLs will begin to appear in the Global MRL Database starting September 21, 2016.

September 19, 2016

On September 16, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published a new MRL amendment affecting acetochlor, diethofencarb, ceftiofur, tebuconazole, tepraloxydim, trifloxystrobin, fenobucarb, fenhexamid, fluazuron, fluopyram, flubendazole, and benthiavalicarb.

Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database on September 20, 2016.

September 8, 2016

On September 8, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a technical report on the outcome of the consultations on the pesticide risk assessment for metazachlor in light of confirmatory data and a reasoned opinion on the setting of an import tolerance for diethofencarb in bananas.

The European Union’s current metazachlor MRLs display in the Global MRL Database, and the proposed diethofencarb import tolerance will display on September 9, 2016.

March 30, 2016

On March 30, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) notified the WTO of proposed MRL changes for the following active ingredients:

The final date for comments is May 29, 2016. Relevant proposed MRLs will appear in the Global MRL Database tomorrow.

January 21, 2016

On January 20, the European Union published Reg. (EU) 2016/53 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for diethofencarb, mesotrione, metosulam, and pirimiphos-methyl in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs go into effect August 9, 2016. Relevant pending MRL changes will be added to Global MRL Database.

November 4, 2015

On November 4, the U.S. EPA established MRLs for residues of diethofencarb and nicosulfuron in or on multiple commodities.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by January 4, 2016. The amended MRLs have been added to Global MRL Database.

June 29, 2015

The European Union recently notified the WTO of draft MRLs, including:

  • G/SPS/N/EU/133 – chlorpyrifos in or on certain products
  • G/SPS/N/EU/136 – diethofencarb, mesotrione, metosulam, pirimiphos-methyl, propiconazole, and spiroxamine in or on certain products

The final date for comments is August 28, 2015. Relevant proposed MRLs will be added to Global MRL Database.
