December 5, 2018

The U.S. EPA recently established tolerances for residues of oxytetracyclinebixafen, clomazone, bifenthrin, and dinotefuran in or on various commodities.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by February 4, 2019. The amended MRLs will be available in the Global MRL Database on December 6, 2018.

August 11, 2017

On July 28, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) announced proposed MRL changes for cyanazine, flometoquin, mandipropamid, dinotefuran, gamithromycin, and tiamulin. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service. 

Comments are due to the Embassy by August 14, 2017. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database over the next week.

December 17, 2015

On December 16, the U.S. EPA published a final rule extending existing time-limited tolerances for residues of the pesticides bifenthrin in or on apple, peach and nectarine; dinotefuran in or on pome fruit and stone fruit; imidacloprid in or on sugarcane, cane and sugarcane molasses; and streptomycin in or on grapefruit and grapefruit, dried pulp.

These time-limited tolerances correspond with pesticide residues in food that will result from the use of a pesticide under an emergency exemption granted by the EPA. Objections and requests for hearings must be received by February 16, 2016.

May 16, 2014

On May 16, the European Union (EU) published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 491/2014 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation includes MRLs for the active ingredients ametoctradin, azoxystrobin, cycloxydim, cyfluthrin, dinotefuran, fenbuconazole, fenvalerate, fludioxonil, fluopyram, flutriafol, fluxapyroxad, glufosinate-ammonium, imidacloprid, indoxacarb, MCPA, methoxyfenozide, penthiopyrad, spinetoram, and trifloxystrobin.

MRLs in this regulation will apply from June 5, 2014; however, MRLs regarding fenvalerate and fludioxonil in mangoes will apply from August 19, 2014. Relevant changes will appear in, accordingly.

January 22, 2014

On January 22, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established MRLs for the active ingredients dinotefuran and acetochlor.  Objections and requests for hearings must be received on or before March 24, 2014. 

Relevant changes will appear in tomorrow.

April 26, 2013

April 26, 2013, the US EPA published a final rule (technical amendment) in the US Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient dinotefuran. The document amends the tolerance listing by restoring the time-limited tolerances that were inadvertently deleted by a subsequent (unrelated) final rule published on November 28, 2012.

April 10, 2013

April 10, 2013, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a final rule, 78 FR 21267, in the Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient dinotefuran. The final rule establishes a new MRL for all food and feed items (other than those covered by a higher tolerance as a result of use on growing crops) in food/feed handling establishments. The EPA will accept comments through June 10, 2013.
