Taiwan’s Ministry of Health recently notified the WTO of a Draft of Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, proposing new and amended MRLs for numerous active ingredients on various commodities.

Comments must be submitted by November 21, 2016. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on September 24, 2016.

On July 14, the Australia Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published Gazette No. 14 – 14 July 2015. Pages 26-28 of the gazette list draft MRLs and pages 33-35 list amendments to MRLs for pesticides on various commodities.

Comments on the draft MRLs must be submitted to APVMA by August 11, 2015. Relevant proposed and amended MRLs will be added to Global MRL Database.

On April 21, the Australia Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published Gazette No. 8 – 21 April 2015. Pages 24-26 of the gazette list proposed amendments to MRLs on various commodities.

Comments must be submitted to APVMA by May 19, 2015, and relevant proposed MRLs will be added to www.globalmrl.com.

Effective July 2, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) amended Japan's MRL regulation (link in Japanese). This update affects MRLs for the following active ingredients: acetaminophen, amisulbrom, cyazofamid, spirodiclofen, norflurazon, ferimzone, phenthoate, fenpyrazamine, fluopyram, and pendimethalin.

Japan maintains an online MRL database, searchable by active ingredient. MRL updates typically take about a week to show up in the English-translated database; at this time, relevant changes will be made to www.mrldatabase.com.

June 5, 2013, the European Union's MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 500/2013 entered into force.  This regulation raises MRLs for the following active ingredients: acetamiprid, Adoxophyes orana granulovirus strain BV-0001, azoxystrobin, clothianidin, fenpyrazamine, heptamaloxyloglucan, metrafenone, Paecilomyces lilacinus strain 251, propiconazole, quizalofop-P, spiromesifen, tebuconazole, thiamethoxam and zucchini yellow mosaik virus - weak strain.

Relevant changes will made to www.mrldatabase.com in the next week.
