On June 3, 2013, the Macau Special Administrative Region notified the WTO of its publication of the Food Safety Law (Law No. 5/2013). This legislation establishes general food safety standards, which includes clauses pertaining to the production and use of food additives.
The law was adopted on March 27, 2013 and will enter into force on October 20, 2013. The document is only available in Chinese and Portuguese. Macau's food additive regulations are not currently included in the International Food Additive Database.
