March 20, 2017

On March 20, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published draft amendments proposing changes to the monographs for quizalofop-P, pyriproxyfen, fluazinam, formetanate, fenpropathrin, thiophanate-methyl, and fipronil (links in Portuguese).

Comments on these proposals must be submitted by April 18, 2017. Relevant proposed MRLs have been added to the Global MRL Database.

August 31, 2016

Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently notified the WTO of adopted MRLs for active ingredients imazapyr and pyriproxyfen.

Individual changes may be viewed in the linked WTO notice. Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database on September 1, 2016.

May 31, 2016

This week, Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposed MRLs for the following active ingredients:

PMRA will accept comments on the proposed MRLs through August 10 (pyraflufen-ethyl, cyantraniliprole, pyraclostrobin), 13 (tebuconazole, ametoctradin), and 14 (imazapyr, pyriproxyfen). Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database tomorrow.

February 22, 2016

On February 22, the U.S. EPA established a tolerance for residues of pyriproxyfen in or on tea from 0.02 ppm to 15 ppm.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by April 22, 2016. The amended MRLs will appear in the Global MRL Database tomorrow.

February 5, 2016

On February 4, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the modification of the existing MRL for pyriproxyfen in bananas.

December 2, 2015

On December 2, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of initial filings of pesticide petitions requesting the establishment or modification of regulations for residues of diflubenzuron and pyriproxyfen in or on various commodities.

Comments on petitioned-for tolerances must be received by January 4, 2016. Relevant proposed MRLs will be added to Global MRL Database.

October 15, 2014

On October 15, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposed MRLs for the following active ingredients:

Comments must be submitted by December 29, 2014, with proposed MRLs not appearing in MRL Database until they are officially adopted by PMRA.

August 21, 2014

On August 21, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published the outcome on the peer review of the pesticide risk assessment of confirmatory data submitted for the active substance pyriproxyfen. 

July 14, 2014

The European Union recently published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 737/2014 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation includes MRLs for 2-phenylphenol, chlormequat, cyflufenamid, cyfluthrin, dicamba, fluopicolide, flutriafol, fosetyl, indoxacarb, isoprothiolane, mandipropamid, metaldehyde, metconazole, phosmet, picloram, propyzamide, pyriproxyfen, saflufenacil, spinosad, and trifloxystrobin in or on certain products.

Further details, including MRL tables, may be found via the linked Official Journal document. MRLs in this regulation will apply starting July 30, 2014, and will appear in the MRL Database at that time.

On December 5, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published Modification of the existing MRLs for pyriproxyfen in stone fruits and tea.
