March 15, 2017

On March 15, the U.S. EPA established time-limited tolerances for residues of streptomycin in or on citrus, group 10-10, for both fresh fruit and dried pulp. The tolerances will expire on December 31, 2019.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by May 15, 2017. The Section 18 tolerances will display in the Global MRL Database on March 16, 2017.

August 26, 2016

On August 26, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the setting of MRLs for amitraz, coumaphos, flumequine, oxytetracycline, permethrin, and streptomycin in certain products of animal origin.

Proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database on August 27, 2016.

April 25, 2016

On April 25, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of pesticide petitions to establish MRLs on numerous active ingredients.

Comments must be received by May 25, 2016. MRLs from this proposal will display in the Global MRL Database tomorrow.

January 27, 2016

On January 27, the U.S. EPA published solicitations for public comment on requested emergency exemptions for sulfoxaflor and oxytetracycline and streptomycin.

The EPA will accept comments on these requested exemptions through February 11, 2016.

December 17, 2015

On December 16, the U.S. EPA published a final rule extending existing time-limited tolerances for residues of the pesticides bifenthrin in or on apple, peach and nectarine; dinotefuran in or on pome fruit and stone fruit; imidacloprid in or on sugarcane, cane and sugarcane molasses; and streptomycin in or on grapefruit and grapefruit, dried pulp.

These time-limited tolerances correspond with pesticide residues in food that will result from the use of a pesticide under an emergency exemption granted by the EPA. Objections and requests for hearings must be received by February 16, 2016.

September 8, 2014

On September 5, the U.S. EPA announced its receipt of several initial filings of pesticide petitions requesting the establishment or modification of regulations for residues of pesticide chemicals in or on various commodities.

Comments on these petitions must be received by October 6, 2014. 

May 17, 2013

On May 17, 2013, the US EPA published a final rule in the US Federal Register amending the MRL regulation for the active ingredient streptomycin. Objections and requests for hearing must be received on or before July 16.
