On October 22, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published Amendment No. 158, establishing variations to Australia's Standard 1.4.2.

The adopted MRLs were approved via Proposal M1012 in late August. Relevant amended MRLs will be added to Global MRL Database.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) recently published the following Proposal M1012 – Amendments to Standard 1.4.2 documents:

FSANZ has notified the Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation (Forum) of its Approval Report, and now the Forum has 60 days to either request FSANZ to review the approved standard or inform FSANZ that it does not intend to request a review.

The Approval Report followed the call for submissions initiated in May.

On June 26, the European Union (EU) published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 703/2014 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation includes MRLs for acibenzolar-S-methyl, ethoxyquin, flusilazole, isoxaflutole, molinate, propoxycarbazone, pyraflufen-ethyl, quinoclamine, and warfarin in or on certain products.

Further details, including MRL tables, may be found via the linked Official Journal document. MRLs in this regulation will apply starting January 16, 2015, and relevant regulatory changes will appear in www.mrldatabase.com at that time.

The European Union recently notified the WTO of draft MRLs for the active ingredients acibenzolar-S-methyl, ethoxyquin, flusilazole, isoxaflutole, molinate, propoxycarbazone, pyraflufen-ethyl, quinoclamine, and warfarin.

The EU is proposing to adopt these changes in May 2014. Comments are due by February 11, 2014.
