May 8, 2019

On May 8, the U.S. EPA established new tolerances for residues of cyflufenamid.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received by July 8, 2019. Amended MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on May 9, 2019.

March 23, 2017

On March 23, the U.S. EPA announced the receipt of pesticide petitions to establish MRLs on several active ingredients.

Comments must be received by April 24, 2017. MRLs from this proposal will display in the Global MRL Database on March 24, 2017.

September 21, 2016

Denmark’s Høringsportalen posted draft MRL amendments under consideration by the European Union's Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. These include:

  • SANTE/11309/2016: aminopyralid, azoxystrobin, cyantraniliprole, cyflufenamid, cyproconazole, diethofencarb, dithiocarbamates, fluazifop-P, fluopyram, haloxyfop, isofetamid, metalaxyl, prohexadione, propaquizafop, pyrimethanil, Trichoderma atroviride strain SC1, and zoxamide
  • SANTE/11418/2015: bifenthrin, carbetamide, cinidon-ethyl, fenpropimorph, and triflusulfuron

Relevant proposed MRLs will begin to appear in the Global MRL Database starting September 21, 2016.

June 24, 2016

On June 24, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published the following reasoned opinions:

The proposed MRLs will display in the Global MRL Database next week.

November 7, 2014

Taiwan's Ministry of Health recently notified the WTO of a Draft of Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, containing MRLs for 21 pesticides.

Comments must be submitted by January 6, 2015. 

October 31, 2014

On October 31, the WTO published a notification from New Zealand's Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) on proposals to amend the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards 2014.

Specific MRLs are listed in the WTO notice, and comments will be accepted through December 30, 2014.  

August 8, 2014

Taiwan's Ministry of Health recently notified the WTO of the adoption of amendments to its Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods, fully adopting numerous MRLs on 17 active ingredients previously published as draft amendments. 

July 14, 2014

The European Union recently published MRL amendment Commission Regulation (EU) No 737/2014 in the EU Official Journal. This regulation includes MRLs for 2-phenylphenol, chlormequat, cyflufenamid, cyfluthrin, dicamba, fluopicolide, flutriafol, fosetyl, indoxacarb, isoprothiolane, mandipropamid, metaldehyde, metconazole, phosmet, picloram, propyzamide, pyriproxyfen, saflufenacil, spinosad, and trifloxystrobin in or on certain products.

Further details, including MRL tables, may be found via the linked Official Journal document. MRLs in this regulation will apply starting July 30, 2014, and will appear in the MRL Database at that time.

Taiwan's Ministy of Heath and Welfare has notified the WTO of a draft MRL amendment, containing MRLs for 17 active ingredients. Comments must be submitted by July 21, 2014.

January 22, 2014

On January 21, the European Union published MRL amendments Commission Regulation (EU) No 36/2014 and Commission Regulation (EU) No 51/2014 in the EU Official Journal. These regulations revise MRLs for aminopyralid, chlorantraniliprole, cyflufenamid, mepiquat, metalaxyl-M, propamocarb, pyriofenone, quinoxyfen, dimethomorph, indoxacarb, and pyraclostrobin.

MRL revisions were made to address new and changed uses. Commission Regulation (EU) No 36/2014 will enter into force 20 days after the date of publication. Commission Regulation (EU) No 51/2014 will enter into force on February 2, 2014.

Relevant changes will appear in after these regulations are in effect.
