On May 29, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the modification of the existing MRLs for fosetyl/phosphonic acid for potatoes and wheat.

Proposed MRLs from this reasoned opinion are now available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database.

July 13, 2017

On July 12, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) opened a public consultation on the active substance fosetyl. Comments on the rapporteur Member State's assessment report must be sent to EFSA by September 11, 2017.

The European Union's current fosetyl MRLs are available in the Global MRL Database.

June 24, 2016

On June 24, the European Union published MRL amendments affecting the following active ingredients:

  • Reg. (EU) 2016/1002: AMTT, diquat, dodine, glufosinate, tritosulfuron
  • Reg. (EU) 2016/1003: abamectin, acequinocyl, acetamiprid, benzovindiflupyr, bromoxynil, fludioxonil, fluopicolide, fosetyl, mepiquat, proquinazid, propamocarb, prohexadione, tebuconazole

Amended MRLs from Reg. (EU) 2016/1002 go into effect on January 14, 2017. Amended MRLs from Reg. (EU) 2016/1003 go into effect on July 16, 2016. Relevant pending MRL changes will be entered in the Global MRL Database in the next week.

On May 31, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published draft amendments proposing changes for the following active ingredients (in Portuguese): thiophanate-methylflumioxazinfosetyl, Bacillus firmustrifloxystrobin, Pasteuria nishizawaeS-metolachlorspinetoramcyproconazoleprohexadione-calciumMelaleuca alternifolia, fluazinam, lufenuron, diflubenzuron, atrazine, chlorothalonil, imazethapyr, azoxystrobin, difenoconazole, tebuconazole, metsulfuron-methyl, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, zeta-cypermethrin, imibenconazole, bifenthrin, and etofenprox.

Comments on these proposals must be submitted by June 26, 2016. Relevant proposed MRLs will show in the Global MRL Database by Thursday.

January 25, 2016

On September 23, the European Union published Reg. (EU) 2016/75 in the EU Official Journal, amending MRLs for fosetyl in or on certain products. MRL changes include temporary MRLs set on various nuts.

Amended MRLs retroactively apply from January 1, 2016. Relevant pending MRL changes will be added to Global MRL Database.

January 8, 2016

On January 8, the USDA Food and Agricultural Service published a report on temporary EU MRLs for fosetyl on several fruits and vegetables that reverted back to lower LOD and default MRLs on January 1, 2016. An amendment retaining MRLs for tree nuts at 75 mg/kg is anticipated in early 2016, discussed at a November 2015 committee meeting on pesticide residues.

These draft fosetyl MRLs will be added to Global MRL Database.

December 15, 2015

On December 14, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a reasoned opinion on the modification of the existing MRLs for fosetyl in blackberry, celeriac, and Florence fennel.
