On July 8, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) published a proposal (in Chinese) to amend the Standards for Specification, Scope, Application and Limitation of Food Additives after the recent revocation of the Sanitation Standard for Milk and Milk Products. Comments are due by July 15, 2021. The proposal was notified to the WTO

On June 30, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) published an amendment revoking a variety of hygiene standards, including the Sanitation Standard for Milk and Milk Products. The revocation is effective from July 1, 2021.

On June 24, Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) announced an amendment affecting MRLs for coumafos and gamithromycin. 

Relevant amended MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Vet Drug MRL Database on June 30, 2021.

On April 7, Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare notified the WTO of a draft standard for pesticide residue limits.  

Comments must be submitted by June 6, 2021. Relevant proposed MRLs can be viewed in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on April 8, 2021.

Recently, the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service published Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) reports for the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Israel, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan.

The BCGlobal Food Additive Database includes maximum use level regulations for over 850 additives in more than 70 countries worldwide, including the EU, Taiwan, and Great Britain. Please contact BCI for more information on subscribing.

On September 29, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration adopted an amendment (in Chinese) to the Standards for Specification, Scope, Application and Limitation of Food Additives. The amendment was notified to the WTO (G/SPS/N/TPKM/504/Add.1 and G/SPS/N/TPKM/487/Add.1) on October 5. The amendment is effective January 1, 2023.
