Recently, Vietnam's Ministry of Health published Circular No. 24/2019/TT-BYT (in Vietnamese), an updated consolidation of Vietnam's food additive regulation. The regulation goes into effect on October 16, 2019.

On April 19, the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service published a Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) report for Vietnam.

On June 6, the Vietnam Food Administration (VFA) notified the WTO of a draft food additive regulation. This regulation was published by the VFA in April 2018. Comments are due by August 5, 2018.

Vietnam's Ministry of Health has published Circular No. 50/2016/TT-BYT amending MRLs of pesticides in food. The updated MRL regulation will enter into force on July 1, 2017, and replaces the current MRL regulation Decision No. 46/2007/QD-BYT.

Relevant MRL changes will appear in the Global MRL Database over the next several weeks.

On September 7, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health notified the WTO of its draft Circular amending and supplementing some provisions of Vietnam’s regulation on MRLs for veterinary drugs in foods.

Comments are due by November 6, 2016.

Established veterinary drug MRLs appear in the veterinary drug section of the Global MRL Database. Please note that we are currently upgrading this section of the Global MRL Database to improve both its design and ease of use. Once this upgrade is completed, users will also be able to subscribe to additional data and features not currently available.

Vietnam's Ministry of Health recently posted draft MRL standard /2016/TT-BYT. Comments can be submitted domestically by June 20, 2016.

The draft standard will likely be notified to the WTO for international comments before being adopted. Relevant proposed MRLs will be added to the Global MRL Database in upcoming weeks following further analysis of the draft standard.
