On May 20, the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/800 and Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/801 amending its food additive regulations. The amendments will apply from June 9, 2019.

On May 2, Mexico’s Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) published an amendment to Annex VI of its food additive regulations. They are effective from May 2, 2019.

On May 16, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published an approval report for Application 1168 on glucoamylase from GM Aspergillus niger. FSANZ notified the Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulations of the approval.
