EFSA Re-evaluates Montan Acid Esters as Food Additives
On June 7, 2013, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published "Scientific Opinion on the re-evaluation of montan acid esters (E 912) as a food additive." Montan acid esters are authorized for surface treatment of fresh fruits in the E.U. This scientific assessment re-evaluates the health safety of their use.
