On April 1, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) published draft amendments proposing to revise the monographs for imazethapyr, deltamethrin, abamectin, boscalid, baculovirus spodoptera frugiperda, picloram, pendimethalin, thiamethoxam, lufenuron, paclobutrazolepyroxasulfone, aviglycine, butralin, disulfoton, flufenpyr, ioxynil octanoate, tetradifon, and phenothiol. (links in Portuguese).

Comments are due by May 30, 2020. Relevant proposed MRLs will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on April 3, 2020.

Malaysia Notifies WTO of Draft MRL Amendment

On March 31, Malaysia's Ministry of Health notified the WTO of a draft MRL amendment, initially published in January 2020, to the Sixteenth Schedule of the Food Regulations 1985.

EU Notifies WTO of Draft MRLs

On March 23, the European Union notified the WTO of the following MRL proposal:

  • G/SPS/N/EU/379: Draft Commission Regulation (EU) amending Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum residue levels for bupirimate, carfentrazone-ethyl, emamectin, ethirimol, and pyriofenone in or on certain products.
The proposed MRLs from this WTO notification will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on March 25, 2020.

The BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database and the BCGlobal Vet Drug MRL Database currently display relevant established and proposed MRLs for the Netherlands.

On March 10, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) published APVMA Gazette No. 5, 10 March 2020. Pages 37-38 of the gazette list draft MRLs and page 43 lists amendments to MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs in or on various commodities.
