Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) recently announced proposed MRL changes for several active ingredients. These changes were reported via the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.

Relevant Proposed MRLs will be available in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on July 30, 2021.

USDA Publishes FAIRS Country Reports

Recently, the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service published Food and Agricultural Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) reports for Ukraine and Dominican Republic.

The BCGlobal Food Additive Database includes maximum use level regulations for over 850 additives in more than 70 countries worldwide, including Dominican Republic. Please contact BCI for more information on subscribing.

The BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database  and the BCGlobal Vet Drug MRL Database currently display relevant established and proposed MRLs for the Dominican Republic.

On July 7, the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1110 amending MRLs for ametoctradin, bixafen, fenazaquin, spinetoram, tefluthrin, and thiencarbazone-methyl in or on certain products.

Amended MRLs will be effective from January 27, 2022. Relevant Pending MRL changes will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on July 8, 2021.

On July 6, the European Union published Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1098 amending MRLs for 24-epibrassinolide, Allium cepa L. bulb extract, cyflumetofen, fludioxonil, fluroxypyr, sodium 5-nitroguaiacolate, sodium o-nitrophenolate, and sodium p-nitrophenolate.

Amended MRLs will be effective from July 26, 2021. Relevant pending MRL changes will display in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database on July 7, 2021.

On June 30, Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) published Advance Notice 2021-288Advance Notice 2021-289, and Advance Notice 2021-290 (in Korean) proposing revisions to their food regulations, including numerous MRL changes.

Relevant proposed MRLs will be added to the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database and BCGlobal Vet Drug MRL Database in the coming week.

Korea Publishes MRL Amendment

On June 29, Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) published Notice No. 2021-54 (link in Korean) revising their food regulations, including numerous pesticide MRL changes. Most MRL changes from this amendment are effective June 29, 2021. MRLs for certain commodities and active ingredients will be effective September 1, 2021.

MRL changes from this amendment will appear in the BCGlobal Pesticide MRL Database in the coming week.
